Shut Down Guantanamo! DC Action on January 11

Important Action on January 11 in DC !!! Please forward to all your

The following action is supported by witnesstorture.org, Amnesty
International, CodePink Women for Peace, and many other groups. We stand
against torture and extra-judicial confinement. We stand for Habeus
Corpus, the rule of law, and respect for human life and human dignity.
Please join us in support of this powerful action to declare our
abhorrence of the crimes that have been committed in our names.

Shut Down Guantanamo! (Washington, DC)

Prisoners of Guantanamo march to the Supreme Court: A provocative street
theater performance involving people wearing orange jumpsuits and black
hoods. We will march in an orderly, silent procession, hauntingly
evoking the moral disgrace that is Guantanamo. All participants are
strongly encouraged to attend a final planning meeting and training on
Thursday (January 10th), 4|6pm. After dinner, there will be a public
program on Guantanamo from 7-9 pm. Location: St. Stephens and the
Incarnation Church, 1525 Newton Street NW, at 16th Street.

January 11th Schedule
10:00 am - Gather at the National Mall for Orientation to Prisoner March
(National Mall @ 12th street NW between Madison Dr NW & Jefferson Drive
SW - near the Smithsonian Metro Stop)

11: 00 am - Permitted demonstration on the National Mall co-sponsored by
Amnesty International and National Religious Campaign Against Torture
Noon - Guantanamo Prisoner Procession from the National Mall to the
Supreme Court (2 plus miles)

1:30 pm - Funeral Ceremony at the Supreme Court remembering the four men
who died in custody at Guantanamo and mourning the death of Habeas Corpus
